When designing with sliding door systems what are some things to keep in mind?

Some things to consider include how the user is going to interact with the door, what is the setting in which the doors will be used, and what functionality features should be incorporated.

What typical finish options do you see on sliding door systems today?

Today, sliding doors tend to have a clear anodized finish for casings, custom powder coated and painted colors, standard brushed finishes, and dark bronze anodized finishes. For door slabs, we mainly see plain sliced white maple, laminate doors, and aluminum stile and rail doors.

How can a designer become more acclimated to designing with sliding door systems?

Serenity provides CAD and REVIT files for our system, as well as Continuing Education and access to view our current systems at different Trade Shows across the nation.

What is the limitation on cased opening thickness?

Sliding door systems can now be integrated into all standard wall thicknesses from 4 7/8" to 7 1/4" (Clear Anodized Aluminum) and custom thicknesses up to 11".

Why is 8" used as the nominal measurement for calculating the door slab width and clear opening size?

The 8" measurement provides ADA compliance of 1.5" on either side of the handle for grasping and covers the width of the visible casing when the door is fully closed.

How can I order Serenity maintenance parts for my facility?

My Serenity door is not sliding smoothly. Are there any adjustments I can make?
